The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency reported it is actually alarmed concerning the large quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office devoted to service the area on a regular basis. The sassa status support position created for intervention ordeals a substantial influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it complicated with the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional resources to allow the servicing of all buyers and maximize access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
